On The Road - Movie Poster

This poster was made as a final project for my Intro to Design Software class. The poster is inspired by the Jack Kerouac novel, On The Road. Because the book was written in 1957, I decided to adopt a vintage 1950's theme for this design. Using various real, vintage posters as my inspiration, I used a primarily red, yellow, and blue color scheme. All fonts used are fonts that would have been seen and available in the 1950's. The eight portraits were rendered with a 2-color scheme and half-tones, similar to how photos would have been printed in this era. The images in the back are all original photography that has been made to look like watercolor paintings.
